I have always been an active person. At school I really enjoyed netball and athletics. But when I entered full time employment, my fitness went out of the window. I became overweight and lacked energy. I then discovered rock climbing and realised that to climb really well, you needed to be trim! Motivated by this, I lost the weight and became a very competent climber.
In 2001, I moved to the Lake District intending to continue with my climbing. I did, for a while, but then got into bad habits again. Before I knew it, I was back to being overweight . The deciding factor came when I tried walking up Beast Banks in Kendal and was out of breath. I was shocked that I had become so unfit. I made the decision there and then, to become an aerobics teacher. I had always loved aerobics and thought, right, I'm going to teach it! Fast forward to 2011 and I have now been teaching aerobics for quite a few years. I love the feeling of being fit and healthy.
I hope you will share with me what your deciding factor was.
Wishing you a very Happy and Healthy 2012.
Teresa.
